Murray Thom is VP of software and cloud services at D-Wave Systems. D-Wave currently sells a 2000 qubit quantum annealing machine and provides access to the system via a cloud service. D-Wave will provide an upgraded 5600 qubit system with denser connections next year. Murray describes how the D-Wave is being used by those who already have problems that they use supercomputers to solve. Researchers at Los Alamos national labs used D-Wave System for enhanced analysis of global terrorist social networks. They have created software libraries on Github that can be easily used by developers to use Quantum computation enhanced programs.
